Council of Tax Appeals under the Ministry of Finance of Georgia is a supreme administrative body dealing with tax and customs disputes. The Council was established in year 2005 in accordance with the Tax Code of Georgia and several bylaws. It consists of 13 members. During the period of years 2005–2009 the Council has heard more than 2000 applications.
The Council is headed by the Minister of Finance of Georgia. Members of the Council are the representatives of different governmental bodies as well as business sector. Decisions are made by majority.
